Band Has Been Placed on 2010 Grammy Ballot
Olympia’s Blue Ringer has been placed on
the 2010 Grammy® ballot in four categories:
· Song of the Year (How Can I)
· Record of the Year (Angels)
· Best Rock Performance by Duo or Group
(Waiting)
· Best Country Song (Angels)
Olympia, WA – Best known for their powerful
brand of alt-country/Western rock, the band Blue Ringer
could be a 2010 Grammy® contender.
When Craig Brown, leader of the band Blue Ringer,
received the news, his initial shock soon gave way to excitement.
“It’s amazing to see your name alongside major artists
like Pearl Jam, U2 and Willie Nelson.”
“When I started playing guitar and writing music thirty years
ago, I only dreamed of this. When it actually happened, it seemed
surreal. To be considered among the world’s best is not only
a thrill and an honor, but it gives us a sense of responsibility
to do great things.” Brown (guitars, vocals) emphasizes that
this project was a group effort. He says, “Deb Brown
(bass, vocals), Stevie Adamek (drums, producer,
engineer) and Mike Mallon (harmonica) all contribute
to creating our original sound.”
The Recording Academy, the organization responsible for the annual
Grammy awards, released the Official Grammy® Ballot last week.
This ballot lists the artists and music chosen by the Academy to
be considered for Grammy nominations.
Final Nominations for the awards will be announced in December and
the 52nd Annual Grammy® Awards take place on January 30, 2010.
